AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To make concerted efforts for the safeguard of the religious and political rights of Shias.To make efforts to ensure proper representation of Shias in the Parliament and the State Assemblies so that they may not be used for religious and political purposes.
- To ensure appropriate representation of Shias in different committees and boards as well as in the Minority Commission.
- To create favorable circumstances for the Shias to find place in higher services.
- To make efforts for placing Shias to the higher posts in the government and semi-government services.
- To identify all those seats in the Parliament and the Assemblies through out the country where Shias votes may play a decisive role or affect the result to a considerable extent.
- To establish separate Shia Waqf Boards in each and every state throughout the country on the pattern of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
- To ensure the representation of Shia-ulma in Central and State Haj Committees and to ensure that the Shia-Hujjaj going for the Haj through the Haj Committees are allowed to perform all the holy acts of Haj in accordance with the Shia (Fiqh) tradition.
- To ensure that the Shia Community is also benefited by all those schemes which are projected from time to time by the Central Government as well as the State-Governments for the benefit of the minorities.
- To constitute such committees that may be able to acquaint Shias with the various prevailing schemes useful and beneficial to the general public and may help Shias, too, to be benefited by the same.
- To make demands from the Central and the State Governments for declaring holidays on certain important occasions, such as, 13th Rajab, 21st Ramazan and 20th Safar.
- To set up Zonal Committes amongst the members of the Board, dividing the whole country into five zones, namely, Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern and Central Zone whose duties shall be as mentioned below :
- To keep a vigilant eye on the Shia's problems and, if they need any kind of help from the Government, then to assist them in that respect and also endeavor to help them at committee level, if so required.
- To help the unemployed youths get suitable jobs and give them advice accordingly.
- To make efforts for providing educational facilities to and raising the standard of education of the Shia boys and girls; to establish, if possible such types of minority coaching centers, for which the Government provides aid, after obtaining such aid from the government; to institute such institutions as are job oriented; to constitute such committees of educated persons which may provide proper guidance and advice to the students as regards to their future professional career; to manage scholarships and the books for the poor students; and to set up such religious schools as may provide to the children the primary education regarding the Holy Quran and Deenyat.
- To look the Shia Masjids, Imambaras and Waqfs and endeavour to improve their condition anyhow.
- To constitute a high level religious committee of eminent, authentic and elderly ulma-e-deen, which may give advice in all matters relating to religious problems and decide the cases according to the Islamic law (Shariyat), if the people of this community prefer to file these cases before such committee instead of filing the same in the courts. To safeguard the religious, legal and social rights of Shias so that none may misuse the same.
- To launch a Shia T.V. Channel with the cooperation of all the Shias whether belonging to India or other countries which may telecast the message of Ahl-e-Bait (the family of Prophet) in different languages throughout the world.
- To give advice to Shias, in particular and other Muslims in general, on different delicate, controversial occasions.
- To condemn terrorism outright and openly, growing in the different parts of the world and disclose the reality the those organizations which are using the name of Islam but are involved in Non-Islamic activities, and present the true picture of Islam in the light of the teachings of Rasool (s.a.) and Aal-e-Rasool (a.s.)
- To bring out a quarterly News Bulletin at least in Urdu, Hindi and English languages, which may reach all the members and work as a medium of contact.
- To safeguards the rights of the women and to decide their problems relating to marriage, divorce, Khula (divorce by a woman after forgving Mehr), Virasat, maintenance and children's education, training and responsibilities, etc. through the aforesaid high level committee
